Visitors leave your website without calling
A visitor who gives up on your website doesn't call to tell you why. They go back to Google and try the next business on the list. Nothing records that lost call, so an old site can cost you jobs for years before anyone notices.
Your site can look fine on the office computer and still be hard to use on a phone. A phone number that won't dial with a tap is enough to lose someone, and so is a contact form with ten boxes to fill in.
So how many calls did your website bring in last month? On many sites there's no way to tell, because nothing on them counts taps on the phone number or forms sent. Without that count, you can't judge whether the site earns what you pay for it.

Every page makes calling you the easy next step
We plan every page around the moment a visitor decides to get in touch. Wherever that moment might come, a call button or a short form sits within reach of a thumb, and your number dials with one tap. For Giuliani Builders, who build custom homes and renovations, that meant a call button and a three-step consultation form on the first screen.
Speed is the other half. Google's Lighthouse test scores how well a page loads on a phone, out of 100, and Giuliani Builders scored 61 with their old website and 79 with the one we built. We speed-test every new site on a phone before it launches.
The biggest thing on their first screen, usually the main photo or headline, took 14.3 seconds to appear on the old site. On ours it takes 4.5 seconds. Lighthouse imitates a mid-range phone on a slow connection, so its times run longer than what you'd see on your own phone. Each figure is the middle result of three test runs, on October 12, 2026 for the old site and October 27 for ours.
We also watch how people move through the site. Microsoft Clarity, which we add to every site we build, makes heatmaps: pictures of each page shaded by where visitors tapped and how far down they read. It also keeps recordings, which replay a visit tap by tap without showing who the visitor was. If people keep stopping before they reach your phone number, the heatmap shows it, and we adjust the page.
How it works
- 1
Tell us which jobs pay best
The jobs you want more of shape every page. Send your current web address, and we'll study the site before we reply.
- 2
Try it at a private link
You should see your new site before your customers do. Try every button on your own phone and send us your changes.
- 3
Launch on your own domain
When you approve, the new site goes live on your domain, the address customers already use. Links to old pages forward to the new ones.
- 4
Count the leads and keep improving
From launch day, your report counts every tap on your number and every form sent. Heatmaps tell us which page to work on next.

A rebuild, side by side

Why it's set up this way
- 01
Most local searches happen on a phone
A slow page loses people before it finishes loading, and Google measures that speed too. We build the phone version first and test its speed before launch.
- 02
A site you can click before it's live
Your new site starts as a working version at a private link. You click through it on your own phone, ask for changes, and it replaces the old one only when you approve it.
- 03
Leads are counted from launch day
Every phone tap and form on the site is tracked in our lead tracker, and heatmaps show where visitors stop reading. You'll know what the new site produces.
What owners say about their new websites
Mike is a professional in the true sense of the word. He is totally honest and upfront with the various facets of the business and works hard for his clients. To top it off, he is just a genuine person. When our website was in dire need of updating, I turned to Mike for that. He totally modernized the website to get us to meet current browser code standards along with revamping the site with an entirely new look. Mike reduced the website load time substantially. It went from several painfully slow seconds to just milliseconds. He then secured our site with Secure Sockets Layer encryption. Last but not least, Mike created a mobile friendly site along with a Progressive Web App. In closing, Michael and the Umbrella Local team will be a great addition to your marketing team.
John Fisch, Catcon. Review of Umbrella Local on umbrellalocal.comWhen I met with Darlene and David, I desperately needed a new website. I really didn’t want to make all the decisions involved with designing a new website and I really had no idea what I wanted it to look like, so like many people, I had put it off WAY too long!! It didn’t matter. I gave them some general ideas and they built the website that I now have that has a design I could never have thought of. David and his Umbrella Local team did exactly what was needed to be done without torturing me through the whole process! This is the way to get a new website with all the specs it needs to make google happy!
Tinker Simmons, Springs CPR Training. Review of Umbrella Local on umbrellalocal.comMichael and his Umbrella Local team did an excellent job redesigning our company website. We had some functionality issues as well as website usability issues and they addressed all of those issues and more. Now the website is much more user friendly and everything functions as it should. In fact, our site has now become the model for other franchises in the company to follow. I appreciate Michael’s hard work, and his willingness to overdeliver. I highly recommend him for web design.
