Marketing for movers
Where a moving company loses jobs

Customers are afraid of getting scammed
Everyone has heard about the mover who quoted low, loaded the truck, then wanted double to unload it. So people read reviews closely, looking for ones that say the final bill matched the quote.
A mover with a few old reviews looks like a gamble. Your customers from last summer were happy, but most of them never wrote a word about it.

Movers with Google's badge get the first look
Search 'movers near me' and the top of the page often shows Local Service Ads, each with a star rating and a badge saying Google checked the business. Someone afraid of a rogue mover tends to start there.
Google checks a business's license and insurance before its ads can run. Until you've done that paperwork, those top spots go to other movers.

Summer quote calls ring while your crews are out
From May to August, it seems everyone wants a Saturday at the end of the month. Your phone rings all day while you're on a truck, and a caller who gets voicemail tries the next mover.
Each of those calls is a family picking a date. Once they book it with someone else, they're gone until their next move, years from now.
What one move is worth

| Long-distance move, two-bedroom home | $2,500, usually $1,500 to $3,500 |
| Move a piano | $1,000, usually $700 to $2,500 |

What a careful customer checks before calling
- 1.Your USDOT number is easy to find
If you move households across state lines, federal rules require your USDOT number on your website. Careful customers look it up before they book.
- 2.Your main category is about moving
Pick the closest moving category Google offers, such as Mover. Google uses it to decide which searches you show up for.
- 3.Your photos show your trucks and crews
A clean truck with your name on it and a crew in matching shirts look like a company that will still answer after moving day.
- 4.Your newest review is from this season
Families check the dates. Answer complaints calmly and say what you did to fix them, because the next customer reads your reply too.
- 5.Your website explains how you price a move
Say whether you charge by the hour or a flat rate, and list what costs extra, such as long stairs or a piano.
- 6.Long-distance moves are listed as a service
If you take them, add them to your listing and your website, so Google can show you to people searching for them.
